Apr 17, 2016 · For example, my 1st footnote citation is shown as 1 [1] XXXX (the first 1 being the superscript) and the 2nd, with two references in, is shown as 2 [2] XXXX [3] XXXX How it is possible to change the numbers between brackets to letters, as [a] for each 1st reference of each citation, [b] for each 2nd reference of each citation... etc. Thanks!

Jun 23, 2010 · I added a footnote, placed the cursor in the empty footnote, then I selected the icon "Zotero Bibliographic Management: Zotero Insert Citation," then I selected the book I want and added the page number. The only problem with this is I do NOT want to add an in-text citation, but I want to add a regular footnote (see above for the type of format).

Nov 15, 2024 · The standard rule in McGill guide for referring to prior citations is ibid for the immediate proceeding footnote, and supra # to the original footnote citation. If the second footnote refers to the footnote right above it, it should just say Ibid.

Aug 2, 2013 · In fact, forcing a footnote style to be printed inline would result in an invalid citation style and this would probably be confusing for many users. Personally, I always write my papers using the APA style (author-date, inline) and then switch to what ever citation style I need (e.g. footnote, numbered) right before submitting the paper.
