
Fokker Spin - Wikipedia
The Fokker Spin was the first airplane built by Dutch aviation pioneer Anthony Fokker. The many bracing wires used to strengthen the aircraft made it resemble a giant spider, hence its name Spin, Dutch for "spider". [1]

After being used statically for the celebration of Fokker's anniversary, this 54-year-old Spider made a flight on March 18, 1990 at the (military) airport of Eindhoven. Fokker test pilot Edwin Boshof has made a few flights with this Spin, for example for a TV documentary of the TROS.

The first aircraft Anthony Fokker built were called Spin, due to the many bracing and flying wires. He built them in Germany in a Zeppelin-shed at Baden-Oos together with his business partner Franz von Daum how provided the financing.
In August 1911, Fokker, together with Goedecker, started building the third spider. The Spin 3 was a slightly smaller version of the Spin 2 and technically there were only limited differences.
