Feb 19, 2012 · Midges and the like seem to be the better quality flies and by that I am talking about WD-40's, disco midges etc etc are the better choices from fly shack.Anything like a Hares Ear nymph, pheasant tail, Hoppers, and any dries just seemed to unravel so fast.

May 5, 2022 · Even though the 7-10wt of these Fly Shacks have that slight hinge thing going on, I'm testing them with a pretty big hex pattern and leaders built out to maybe 18' along with casting that on a 6wt true-to-weight trout taper on a 690 which is more 5wt inclining.

Jun 16, 2008 · Some fly designs at any price get chewed up pretty bad after just a few fish (web wing caddis for instance). Shipment was prompt and the order was correctly filled. They also gave me a credit for one free fly on my next order. The price is so low I order a bunch of each fly. I hate running out of the fly that's working.

May 6, 2016 · The cheapest place I have found for flies is sportsmans warehouse. They are a dollar a piece if you buy 12 or more. The fly shops, and bass pro, etc were $2 a fly usually. They have all the basic popular patterns. I have been satisfied with them. I go to the store and pick them out by hand though. Never bought them online.

May 5, 2022 · I think these Fly Shack ones are okay. I like the 9'/3-6. If there is a better braided leader, I would like to try it. I had about an hour and a half out on the river today before getting rained on. I wished I checked the weather as it was hard to tell if the rain would pass. The rain put a halt to bugs and fish rising.
