ES-335 with Princeton Reverb - Flubby? | Page 2 | The Gear Page
Dec 10, 2017 · Let me add some information about my set-up, again emphasizing that I have no problem with low-end flub. My ES has Seth Lover pups in it, and my PRRI (65) has an Eminence Allesandro 10" speaker and some high-end NOS pre-amp tubes.
Flubby low E String - The Gear Page
Oct 20, 2020 · IStill flubby? Use a larger gauge low E string (and A and D for balance). If it's still flubby add a spring to the trem; If it's *still* flubby block the trem and see if it gets better. If it's just through the amp adjust the pickups away from the strings . . .
Headphones recommendation to tame flubby bass from neck pickup
Nov 26, 2024 · I'm getting some really flubby sounding base when I play my neck pickup with "Drive" captures. I tried adjusting EQ, pickup height etc. but nothing seemed to help. I'm using Sennheiser HD-280 Pro headphones but have also tried some Beyerdynamic IEM's (MMX 101) with similar results.
What to expect from a Marshall 1987x? - The Gear Page
Dec 5, 2017 · It sounded boxy and flubby with a layer of graininess over the top. I was totally underwhelmed. Turns out, there's a 2000pf bright cap across the bright volume pot in order to achieve overdrive at lower volumes, and it sounds like crap.

Turn it the whole way down and play your low B (or whatever you tune to) while you inch it back up. When it starts to get flubby, roll it back a little. Also, try using less gain.
Tweed Champ - Which new 8" Speaker? | The Gear Page
Mar 16, 2023 · Bass is less flubby and it sounds bigger but you do lose a little of that tweed character with volume maxed. It's not a problem for me as I have the Crazyhorse pedal. The Fat Jimmy 8" belongs in the discussion.
accurate power amp modeling (distortion) -- do you care?
Jan 6, 2022 · Depends on what tones you are after. Power amp modeling really comes into play with non master volume style amps (Plexi's).
Are the Marshall Origin 50 worth buying? - The Gear Page
Jun 16, 2020 · The Origin amps are pure Marshall tone, but keep this in mind - you need a pedal in front to get real dirty. I found the Origins to be more of a pedal platform where I would set the amp on the edge. lower the guitar for clean and drive it with pedals f
Tonex pedal - The Gear Page
Oct 14, 2023 · I had the Stomp. It's modelling is pretty good but Tonex seems a bit more realistic out of the box. I had to spend hours with Helix importing 3rd party IRs and tweaking the EQ to try and get the tones right.
