Jun 12, 2014 · Florvio (florfenicol) 2.3% Concentrate Solution is administered through drinking water and is intended for treating respiratory disease in nursery pigs from 8 to 13 weeks old as well as grower and finisher pigs.

Florvio TM 2.3% Concentrate Solution is indicated for the treatment of swine respiratory disease associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella choleraesuis, and Streptococcus suis in swine.

Florfenicol is well absorbed from the gut when given orally and achieves significant plasma concentrations and has low plasma-protein binding. It is very active against A. pleuropneumoniae and P. multocida but less active against S. suis and S. choleraesuis. It is primarily classed as a bacteriostatic drug but can be bactericidal at twice the MIC.
