Jul 6, 2019 · Sounds like this could be visual snow, I have mild visual snow and sometimes also experience those symptoms (flickering and shimmering vision, issues with focusing) and I've read other stories of people experiencing similar symptoms. "Visual Snow Syndrome patients often experience their vision flickering, particularly in their peripheral vision.

Nov 26, 2003 · I have noticed that about one or two times per week during the last 4-5 months that early in the mornings I get a mild flickering of my vision. It is something like viewing things through a rotating fan blade which would be revolving about 150 RPM. Has never lasted more that 30 minutes to and hour and once gone, it never recurs during the same day.

I first took notice of it after I had two "episodes" where my entire vision flickered noticably and suddenly when I was sitting in areas with high light contrast (e.g in front of a window in an otherwise dim room).
