He went down to the pond that I've been leaving at it at to fish some, and the canoe was gone. He goes to the other two ponds where the jon boat stays and it was gone.

Dec 1, 2011 · Also, one of the key's for me, a wide, deep V bottom boat will handle much bigger, rougher water than a mod V or flat bottom boat. At least when comparing sizes. A really wide deep 16' boat would be safe (using common sense) on pretty big water. A 16' mod v or flat bottom is going to be confined to smaller inland lakes.

Oct 22, 2007 · Each one extends out from the side for 2 feet. So that's 4 feet of stabilizers plus 3 feet of flat bottom canoe for a total of 7 feet of width on a 14' canoe. How many aluminum boats have anything approaching that?

Jun 3, 2014 · I got my rudder in a couple days ago, installed it on the MK 45lb Traxxis TM that powers my 12' canoe, and had it on the water for 5 hours this morning. As A-Jay and carlm01 mentioned above, there is a discernible difference in handling.

Aug 24, 2008 · Def. a Jon. I had a canoe and recently sold it and went with a 10 ft Jon and I like it much more. The flat back canoes I have seen may be around the same weight as the Jon but much more awkward to move. Also, I put the jon in the back of my SUV without to much trouble. Much easier than getting a canoe on the roof.
