Winchester Model 94 Flat-Band Carbine - Smith And Wesson Forums
Nov 29, 2018 · Flat-band Carbines were made from approximately April 1946 - December 1948. Mid-way through the Flat-band production (1947), the knurled hammer was changed to the serrated hammer , and several months later (still in 1947), the shape of the receiver frame at the transition to the upper tang was changed.
Missing side plate screws | Smith And Wesson Forums
Nov 29, 2024 · Yes, the rear screw has a flat head so it doesn't hit the back of the right grip panel. The other screw is domed like the front screw. However, the front screw is called the yoke screw because it secures the yoke in the frame and is dedicated to that position.

Sunday evening shooting at Flat Iron Mountain in Arizona
Apr 23, 2012 · Finally, a bit of time to shoot. My friend was busy, so by myself. I went out to Flat Iron Mountain, which is North and perhaps a bit East of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Here are a few of my (crummy) pictures. Sunset over the mountains West of Flat Iron Mountain. Looking South over Flat Iron Mountain. The new to me 686.
S&W Model 10-5 questions - Smith And Wesson Forums
Oct 27, 2019 · Numbering of major components with the serial, like on the underbarrel flat and the cylinder face, was phased out after the model numbering started around 1957, although a few numbers, like on the back of the extractor star, remained longer than others. So a Model 10-5 would be too young to still have a numbered barrel.

Feb 28, 2025 · I used a chronograph today and they clocked at around 650 to 700 fps (125 grain flat nose plated bullets). I loaded them light. I compared them to factory ProGrade brand ammo, also a 125 grain flat nose (either jacketed or plated, I am not sure). Those ran at around 760 to 810 fps. This is what I expected.

Feb 15, 2025 · Hello to the S&W forum. I've inherited a .38 S&W Special - Military & Police model that I would like to know more of its history and worth. It has a 4 in. barrel and 6-shot capacity. It is a Victory model as evidenced by its s/n V 535949 P that can be found on the grip frame, extractor rod “flat”, and the cylinder.
S&W Revolver Hip Shootin' - Smith And Wesson Forums
Jul 17, 2010 · For the life of me, I cannot fathom why a flat mainspring housing was ever put on any 1911. Two guns that I grew up with are the S&W 1917 revolver and the 1911. The 1911 with a flat spring never seems to shoot as well as one with the arched housing. For point shooting like you demonstrated, the gun must fit the hand to some degree.
Flat latch J Frame .22 - Smith And Wesson Forums
Dec 13, 2013 · Does it look like a flat piece of steel that's got a gentle curve to it? That would make it a J-frame revolver Or does it look like there is a thin round rod with a coil spring wrapped around it? That would make it an Improved I-frame revolver Congratulations on a great little shooter. Enjoy it in good health. And most of all, WELCOME to the forum.
