The Yi or Nuosu people (Nuosu: Yi: ꆈꌠ, [nɔ̄sū]; see also § Names and subgroups) are an ethnic group in southern China. Numbering nine million people, they are the seventh largest of the 55 ethnic minority groups recognized by the Chinese government.

With a population of 7,762,286, the Yi ethnic group is mainly scattered in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, in which Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan province holds the single largest Yi community in China.
