Mar 18, 2015 · As far as the brakes go, I ride a tall gear ratio, a little over 3:1 (46/15), which makes it hard to skid stop, plus I don't want to burn through my gatorskins. So I use a front brake, it's safer and quicker and easier and less damaging to tires.
