The Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing; model code: R35; Japanese: 日産・GT-R; Nissan GT-R) is a series of cars built by Japanese marque Nissan since 2007 to 2025. It has a 2+2 seating layout and is considered both a sports car and a grand tourer.

The first Nissan Skyline GT-R wasn't initially a Nissan at all in fact. The model began as the Prince Skyline, which competed in the Japanese Grand Prix in the 1960s against Porsches. With the mid-engine R380, it eventually won the 1966 race, impressing Nissan so much that it bought Prince altogether.

Nov 7, 2017 · Nissan’s first GT-R appeared in February 1969 and was labelled as the Hakosuka by car enthusiasts. Hako (ハコ) means Box in Japanese, and suka（スカ） is short for Skyline (スカイライン; Sukairain). The C10 GT-R used a 2.0-litre S20 I6 engine which produced 160bhp and 180Nm of torque.
