Feb 23, 2023 · Fire OS 8 was just released with the most recent Fire 7 in June 2022, so that's what a new HD 10 is likely to get. Amazon in general does not upgrade the version of Fire OS on devices. Expect it to stay on the same Fire OS version it was sold with, but with the guaranteed security updates.

Jan 19, 2023 · Firefox works fine on a Fire if the version of Fire OS it runs is equivalent to a supported version of Android. I had Firefox 108 on my HDX that runs Fire OS 5 via the Play Store, and no banner shows. I just now ran the update to 109 with zero troubles. Android 4/Fire OS 4 support is long gone, though. What does yours run?

I am going to assume that rooting or jail breaking a tablet is fundamentally different from the other options in that you are completely removing the Fire OS and replacing it with a stock android OS while the other options run on top of or inside the Fire OS? This isn't accurate you are still using the same OS for all of these options.

I checked for updates and see there was an update yesterday 4/9. My 1st gen 4K Max is on Fire OS 7.6.6.9 (PS7669/4007) with Fire TV Home Version 6500118.1. I just wonder if anyone is seeing a problem recently. Because just a few weeks ago I had to reboot the Firestick for a different problem. And this problem seemed to happen after the last update.

Jun 15, 2022 · Fire Toolbox can disable some of the bloat & ads and you can sideload Google Play Platform. I also recommend sideloading You Tube Next dot com. I prefer Beta vs Stable because the latter hasn't been updated in more than a year whereas the Beta is updated at least once a week to stay ahead of Google Ads.
