Here I would like to show you how I do it with the slightly harder Fimo and their MixQuick conditioner. Like I say, life is too short to knead hard Fimo until it is soft, and you know me, I like to make things as simple as possible! My favorite little helper when it comes to hard Fimo is my trusty carrot kitchen grater.

Fimo Professional, Cernit, and Pardo are naturally crumbly, but this goes away with conditioning. Kato Polyclay is naturally stiff and requires effort to condition. Some polymer clay brands can become too dry with age.

Anyone have any experience with Fimo Mix-Quick? Is it any good? Nothing is really too old. I went back and got that ancient block from the 80s-90s I posted earlier and worked it up. I just used a bit of mineral oil. Sculpey clay softener.

Feb 7, 2017 · If you have old Polymer clay, that has been stored out of sunlight and not somewhere that gets really hot, even if its extremely old, don’t bin it. Kneeding it a bit more than normal will help to bring it back to life.
