Sep 3, 2023 · You will not see filmstrip again unless you reset this tab! Comment #2: BUT there is a extra step. Once you open the photo, you have to go to the far/top left and when hovering over the icon, you'll see "Browse all your photos and videos". Once you click that, you can access all settings for Photos, and there is the slider to disable Filmstrip.

The filmstrip viewer did briefly make appearance is later versions but was removed with updates with the lame xtra large, large, medium, and small folder setting - all of these are the same thing, so why not eliminate all but the large, and go back to allowing the filmstrip view setting.

Jan 31, 2025 · Im opening picture 2 and use the filmstrip below to also open picture 5 (blue checkbox). I'm scrolling thru the filmstrip and also select picture 32. At this point I'm seeing 3 pictures on my screen. I continue to scroll an about half way searching for another picture. All of a sudden the filmstrip jumps back to the beginning of the filmstrip!

Sep 15, 2023 · There is no method, setting or even a registry hack to remove that filmstrip permanently from the new version of the Photos app. The best option is to open the Feedback Hub (Windows Key + F) and suggest to their developers they add this as an option to the new Photos app, the more people that do, the sooner we will get that as an option.
