Except at the lower elevational limits of cloud forest, common lowland species in Fiji do not generally penetrate into this zone. At 1 200 m elevation, unique trees include Ardisia brackenridgei, Dysoxylum lenticellare, Fagraea vitiensis and Weinmannia spp., and among the shrubs are Pipturus argenteus, Randia vitiensis and Scaevola floribunda .
