The Fiat 127 is a supermini car produced by Italian car manufacturer Fiat from 1971 to 1983. It was introduced in 1971 as the replacement for the Fiat 850. Production of the 127 in Italy ended in 1983 following the introduction of its replacement, the Fiat Uno, although the nameplate continued to be used on cars imported from Brazil

The Fiat 127 drew heavily from the excellent technology used in the 128: transversal engine coupled with front-wheel drive, independent four-wheel suspension and front disc brakes. The front-mounted engine was the same 903 cc four-cylinder one that powered the 850 Sport Coupé.

Ani s koncem výroby v Itálii ale 127 z Evropy nezmizela, Fiat pro změnu začal dovážet brazilskou verzi s pouze brazilskými motory - benzinovým o objemu 1049 cm3 nebo naftovým o objemu 1301 cm3. Zmizel pětidveřový hatchback, kombi ale v nabídce zůstalo. Tato varianta se dovážela až do roku 1987, kdy skončila i produkce v Brazílii.
