However. Fern and Stark. When Frieren and Fern started traveling together, I thought "This is great, finally an anime where we won't have to witness the awkwardness and shallowness of a male teenager." Well, it didn't last long, since they introduced Stark.

That puts Fern at 14 or 15 when completing the third class exam. The story has a line about this, but imagine an eighth grader being top of the class in a test designed for mid level mages. (If I remember correctly fifth class is the basic mage qualifier, which makes third just higher than half)

Jan 24, 2022 · The power system of this series is heavily based on match-ups. We saw Stark take down a dragon both Fern and Frieren together fail to defeat. Fern is more talented than Stark, but there is no clear way to measure them really.

Fern is a prodigy, especially at mana suppression. Frieren has been practicing mana suppression for a thousand years. You can’t exactly compare those two, but it seems likely that a thousand years of practice beats natural talent. Reply reply Janus-a •
