Apr 1, 2025 · Fenimore Farm is located at 5775 State Highway 80, Cooperstown, NY 13326 which is one mile north of the Village of Cooperstown on the west side of Otsego Lake. From the traffic light in the Village, follow Route 80 east approximately one mile.

Fenimore Farm & Country Village’s outstanding collection of more than 23,000 items encompasses significant historic objects ranging from butter molds to carriages, and hand planes to plows.

Fenimore Farm & Country Village, formerly The Farmers' Museum, is a museum located in Otsego, New York, just north of Cooperstown. It recreates rural life from the 19th century through exhibits and interactive workshops.

America's history comes alive-daily chores are carried out at the working farm while commerce flourishes in the country village. Visitors experience the interplay among trades, village life and agriculture in New York State circa 1845.

New Cow Barn, Fenimore Farm The Main Barn at The Farmers’ Museum began as a cow barn at Fenimore Farm, owned by Edward Severin Clark. The stone barn had stanchions for eighty cows, enameled stalls, two silos for hay and grain storage, and a separate stone creamery for processing the milk.

Visitors experience the interplay among trades, village life and agriculture in New York State circa 1845. The museum, one of the oldest living history museums in the U.S., features exhibits, craft demonstrations and hands-on activities that bring history to life.

The house contains nests and angled perches for roosting. The building not only provides security and shelter for the chickens but also encourages egg laying in a specific area for ease of gathering. Fenimore Farm raises three different types of chickens: Dominique, Rhode Island Red, and Buff Orpington.
