Apr 26, 2018 · F-75 and F-100, also known as Formula 75 and Formula 100 milk, are therapeutic foods/milk given to Severe Acute Malnourished (SAM) Child. They are high energy products with rich nutrient content and used for treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition.

F-100 and F-75 (also known as Formula 100 and Formula 75) are therapeutic milk products designed to treat severe malnutrition. The formula is used in therapeutic feeding centers where children are hospitalized for treatment. [1] . F-75 is considered the "starter" formula, and F-100 the "catch-up" formula. [2] .

Safe preparation of therapeutic milk F75 and F100 Together with WHO and partners, UNICEF has developed guidance for the safe preparation of therapeutic milk in English, French, Arabic and Somali.

F75 is designed to be low in protein, lactose, sodium and iron, modestly high in sugar to prevent hypoglycaemia, and with sufficient energy to maintain energy balance. It is therefore the ideal feed to give during stabilisation.

To prevent death, feeding should begin as soon as possible with F-75, the “starter” formula used until the child is stabilized. F-75 is specially made to meet the child’s needs without overwhelming the body’s systems at this early stage of treatment.

F-75 is a milk based powdered therapeutic diet. Reconstituted F-75 milk provides an energy density of approximately 75 kcal/100ml. It is intended for phase 1 (stabilisation) treatment of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). Each canister contains 400g of F-75 Therapeutic milk powder in cartonsof 24 canisters and comes with a scoop.

F75 Therapeutic Milk is designed for the stabilization of hospitalized patients during the initial phase of treatment of severe acute malnutrition. It is suitable for children from 6 months age. The F75 diet is consisting of ensuring patient’s rehydration and stabilizing the metabolism.

F-75 therapeutic milk was designed for the stabilisation phase of inpatients suffering from severe acute malnutrition, that is phase 1 of the treatment protocol drawn up by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

F-75 is therapeutic milk diet that has added vegetable fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. It is liquid therapeutic diet with an energy density of approximately 75kcal/100 ml. The F-75 liquid therapeutic diet is intended for stabilisation phase of treatment of children diagnosed with SAM.

As part of ongoing efforts to promote quality care and treatment for children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) with medical complications through safe preparation of F-75 and F-100 therapeutic milk (TM), improvements have been made to the packaging and reconstitution method of therapeutic milk.
