May 6, 2023 · Yeah, I've never heard of cloth shutter failure on Pentax cameras, but some other vintage RF with jam, leak and fall apart curtain, the Soviet made ones especially and I had enough, so that I started looking for fixed lens RF with leaf shutter, but will also grab a Spotmatic, btw is that Spotmatic II or F the best of the family ?

While linear is smooth like the leaf shutter in the K-3 III, the others have tactile bumps when pressed. Jan 28, 2024 · I am looking for instructions on how the rotating mount on the Pentax 1000mm mirror lens works. It seems a bit odd (in that it is easy for the end to fall off at the slightest mistake). I bought the lens without a user manual, so I am clueless about how the rotating mount should work (and not have it fall off the lens).

Set the focal plane shutter to the desired speed (which will be 60, 125, 250, or 500--the speeds provided by the leaf shutter). Adjust the ISO and aperture to center the metering display. Set the leaf shutter to the desired speed. Set the focal plane shutter in the camera to 1/8.

May 10, 2009 · Thanks -- that's really what I wanted. Should get along fine with my LX and black ME Super. I had a VERY used black Spottie SP last year and even though I parted with it for a good cause, I can't help but think that I could have bought a silver one to donate instead.

Nov 15, 2023 · This is a useful lens when ultimate sharpness is not the primary goal. Good capture of colors. I will mention that my lens appears to be one of the later versions. It has a nine-leaf aperture, not mentioned in introductory statistics given at beginning of this section.

Sep 28, 2024 · Edge vision isn't great but considering it only cost me the play time it's fine for me, but I did buy some late model style eye cups from China which I intend to stick the trimmed lens to so it gives coverage like the official diopter lense adjuster from Pentax which unless you have access to try them out might be the wrong strength or be less useful as eyes age.
