Feb 21, 2020 · The Portuguese government says Beijing is one of 18 cities set to put on this year a Fado festival arranged by the government to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fado singer Amália Rodrigues. The government issued a written statement saying the festival is meant to promote Portuguese music.

The Portuguese news agency says Ms Roseta, accompanied by three guitarists, sang to a full house on Sunday, her performance including several songs made famous by fado divas such as Amália Rodrigues. The fado concert was only the second ever held at a Chinese university.
