The Focke-Wulf Ta-283 was a combination interceptor. By that, it had two different types of engine. One was a 'standard' liquid fuel rocket as was used in the earlier Me-163 and 263. The other were two huge ramjets. It was up to the rocket engine to get the 283 to speed where the ramjets were able to operate.
