Also known as "Projekt 283" or "P.283", the Ta 283 was one of several programs being designed along the lines of ramjet engine propulsion by the end of the war.

The only recorded dimensions for the Ta 283 are a length of 11.8 meters and a wingspan of 8 meters. Maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) is estimated at 5,380kg, and other estimates include a top speed of 700mph, an operating range of 430 miles, and a service ceiling of up to 32,800 feet.

The Focke-Wulf Ta-283 was a combination interceptor. By that, it had two different types of engine. One was a 'standard' liquid fuel rocket as was used in the earlier Me-163 and 263. The other were two huge ramjets. It was up to the rocket engine to get the 283 to speed where the ramjets were able to operate.

The Ta 283 was a project for a fighter to be powered by 2 ram jets running on powdered coal & kerosene like the Li P13a. The kit comprises 11 white metal & resin parts plus a vacuum formed canopy which all come in a sturdy box.
