Nov 2, 2020 · Thought I'd share some muzzle velocity results from my search for a good MP5 subsonic ammo. Chronographed in fps at the muzzle of a Turner Fab TF9 (MP5 clone). Samples sizes were only 5 rounds each. Note that speed of sound is around 1,125 fps at 68 deg. F.

Oct 2, 2018 · Looking to see what the approximate velocity would be for a standard 8.85” barrel and Federal HST 124 grain +P rounds. The MV is listed at 1200 FPS, but I would expect it to be higher with the MP5’s longer barrel. Any ideas on what it would approximately be? Thanks!

Aug 26, 2010 · My ballistics guesser says a really hot 9mm +p which would be +/- 1200 FPS from a 4" pistol bbl should run about 850-900 out of the SD. A 147 would be 1000 FPS vs 750 FPS in the SD. The longer bbl of a full size MP5 only adds about 50-100 FPS over a 4" pistol.

So far I've done the following modifications: The replica is advertised to fire at 340fps (one of the two options from taiwangun, other being 300fps). Since I don't have 0.2 BBs and test with 0.25 and 0.28 I will use muzzle energy as a measure. So the stock gun should have been around 1.06j.
