The FN® M16A4 is an M16A2 with a removable handle and full-length quad picatinny rail. The M16A2 weapon system was developed at the request of the United States Marine Corps to improve on the M16A1 and went into large scale production by 1987.

Dec 8, 2017 · FN’s FN 15 Military Collector M16 has that in spades with the ties to the military M16, and the fact that it performs better than many similarly priced commercial rifles is the icing on the top. I think it’s a great product, definitely worth the $1,749 MSRP.

This rifle differed from the M16A1 by having a heavier barrel with faster 1:7 rifling, a different type of rear sights (adjustable for both range and windage), round handguards instead of triangular ones, and by replacing the full-automatic fire mode with 3 round burst to preserve ammunition.
