May 30, 2009 · F N 46 is the stamp on it. It was used in a machine gun. They made ammo for several calibers at that time. We would need dimensions of the round in question to determine what caliber it is. Welcome to the forum. Can't tell what caliber it is without a pic but it was made by Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre (FN), Herstal, Belgium in 1946.
