Aug 30, 2017 · The simplest FM antenna actually works quite well. A length of 300 ohm twin-lead antenna cable (not that easy to find any more though), made into a dipole antenna. You can just buy the antenna for $6. You might need a 300-75 ohm adapter if your receiver only has coax in.

Oct 26, 2018 · For FM reception, I now use a 1/2 wave dipole antenna mounted in a 3rd floor attic with outstanding results which rivaled or bettered a rooftop VHF/UHF/FM antenna. I've never had good luck with rabbit ears for FM reception. I'd say consider yourself lucky LOL.

Sep 15, 2021 · I’m looking into installing an outdoor fm antenna. Can I ground the antenna to a pre existing ground? I have an electrical panel/meter outside near to where the antenna would be. It’s grounded and I could attach the antenna ground to this ground that’s already buried. Advisable? Or am I going to be burning up my house? Thanks very much.

They work as well in an attic as they do on a roof. A wall-mounted dipole can work if you orient it right, but often your walls aren't at the correct angle needed.

It's going to the basement of my house where it goes into a powered 4 way distribution box. From there it goes through some passive splitters and in one room another 4 way amp/distribution box (for two ATSC tuners and a radio tuner).
