Oct 3, 2018 · From what I hear the 35" tire will fit my rig. Concern: rubbing and less articulation. Powertrain strain / loss of power up highway hills. Toyota mechanic says the rig would best function with 33's. Many other 80 Series owners say go with 35" because you'll wish you did later.

Dec 9, 2021 · I have the TJM progressive 2.5" lift with true 35" toyo R/T on my 80. Method wheels with the proper offset plus a spacer so I can run the center caps. Only rubs on hard-core flex situations.

Oct 25, 2023 · Two primary reasons to go 35’s….aesthetics or additional clearance for increased offroad capabilities. If the latter, how often and hard you wheel will help make the decision. If aesthetics only, depends on your pocket book and how bad you want it.

Nov 5, 2006 · 4.88 gears w/35" tyres gives you an effective ratio lower than normal. The reason many will recommend 4.88 gears w/35" tyres is that this lower effective gearing helps off-road and helps compensate for a heavier tyre.

Aug 12, 2009 · 2008 Ti 6MT, off-road package with a few mods. You can always go ahead and get the tires, but not put them on until you get the gears. It will run with 35's but you're going to get annoyed with all the shifting to maintain speed and accelaration...especially in the mountains.
