Sep 30, 2011 · I read several post regarding 33" tires and didn't get what I experienced. If you have an 80 and don't want to hit passing gear over every over pass, don't get 33s. Seriously, if this cruiser even thinks there is an incline it down shifts.

Oct 3, 2018 · Going from stock to 33's you'll see a bigger "power" drop than from 33s to 35s (largely due to the extra weight of your average AT or MT from a stock P rated tire). 33s are pretty "plug and play" in that you won't rub fender on the average 2.5" lift.

Nov 24, 2015 · I really want to throw the 35s on it for the looks but my concern is that it will be unbearably slow and hard on the truck especially when climbing the Cajon Pass, Grape Vine, and Sherwin Grade. Are the 35s bearable or should I just stick with the 33s?

Nov 18, 2015 · Here is my FJ with a 2 and change OME lift and stock tires. Here I have some 33s. I would go with the 33s. I'm thinking my next set will be some 285/75/17 BFGs which are 34s. 33s fit well with a 3" lift and I don't believe you will need a regear.

Jun 14, 2007 · 33's will fit a non-lifted FJ because they fit on a lifted FJ. No current suspension that I've seen (except maybe Total Chaos Long Travel) changes the point at which the suspension bottoms out or any other geometry.

May 2, 2011 · I have a stock FJ80 and I am wanting to put bigger tires on it. I am running 31x 10.50 now and I am wanting to put 33x12.50 on it. I am putting a 1 inch spacer kit on it so I think this will give me enough clearance. Is that enough to clear the 33's?

Aug 9, 2010 · You can fit 33s with no lift, maybe trimming needed at rear of front wheel openings depending on wheel width and offset. I fit skinny 36s now with that trimming, stock wheels, and a 1-inch body lift. You can tow when you want to.
