Aug 26, 2018 · I am thinking to build a FDE colored AR using Aero Precision parts. If you have experience with your FDE colored rifles, please chime in. I have a FDE colored pistol and I hate the color - it’s so easy to get dirty. Some may say a gun is a tool, but I still want my tool to be clean. So please tell me what you think about your FDE guns.

Feb 27, 2017 · FDE works quite well down here for most of the year, the spring (currently) being the only exception. Black leaves a very distinct outline against ones person. Black also stands out like a sore thumb under nods.

Feb 17, 2017 · My ar's are either all black or black/od green. Black upper/lower receiver. OD stock/grip/rail covers or moe hand guard. FDE is ok, but too common and it really makes no sense where I live. I accidentally picked up some foliage green rail covers that made me wish I had done the rest of the rifle in FG.

Apr 13, 2009 · I'm trying to decide if I want to keep my rifle blacked out, or get a FDE UBR, FDE MIAD, FDE PMAGs and FDE rail covers and paint the FUG with Magpul FDE Duracoat.

Apr 6, 2007 · FDE is a better color because its lighter then OD. I know with ghillie suits it's better to use desert cammo and light brown burlap because darker colors attract the eye quicker. OD is pretty dark. I think if you want green, foliage green is the way to go. Even in a green environment, the FDE color is still harder to notice as being "outta place".

Sep 10, 2013 · One of my Ar's has fde: Magpul CTR stock, Moe+ grip, Rail vert grip, Surefire G2x, and Lancer L5 mags (have plenty of black pmags). Yes it does break up the look a bit. But I think "all" fde Ar's look better.

The newer, deeper / richer, "tanish" anodized finishes are much nicer than the "washed out" FDE. I like Geissele's DDC and Unity Tactical's "FDE" (NOTHING like MP FDE ...

Jul 18, 2011 · Well my first rifle is decked out in OD green. It's the first color I loved since being on this site. Since then I've started to also like FDE, therefore the rifle I'm currently building will be FDE. I hope to one day hydrodip the FDE one in multicam though, because I love that look.
