Except none of the three F40PH-2C’s started out as Amtrak F40PH’s. They were built by M-K with new frames on EMD trucks, rebuilt EMD prime mover and a Caterpillar engine for head end power.

The PSRM is acquiring two F40PH-2C locomotives from the NCTD. They will be stored at an undisclosed location in the San Diego area until it is posssible to move them by rail to the Museum in Campo.

Boston's MBTA F40PH-2C #1054 and others in its class have been out to MPI for a rebuilding. It appears that #1054 was returned to Framingham this morning via CSX.
