If it's hard maintaining an F-22N Sea Raptor for the Navy and Marines, they wouldn't field it in such large numbers. Performance penalties on an F-22N compared to the USAF-spec F-22A would be minuscule, possibly negligible, albeit the strengthened airframe, landing gear and recessed tailhook. Mar 27, 2009 · The F-22 Raptor is capable of sinking enemy ships simply by dropping a 1000 lb JDAM or 250 lb SDB straght into the smokestack of the target vessel and fused to detonate upon hitting the keel, guaranteeing a total sink. This capability would apply to the F-22N Sea Raptor.

I thought it was curious it emerged as part of the NATF/F-22N concept, given how "dead" VG has been since the 1970's. Other than bombers, I can't recall any other class of aircraft using it.

GRanted an F-22N would have cost even more, but it would have been unmatched in a/a and would have provided even better stealthy strike capability. The F-22 is more stealthy than the F-35, better radar, supercruise and all the rest.

Dec 17, 2019 · In that Annex below did he really just say that structural enhancements on this "F-22N" have no significant basic empty weight (BEW) increase?? Just to compare, Northrop's F-18L would have been 5,000 lbs lighter than F/A-18A.
