
Thinking about buying a EVO, MR or GSR? Which is better?
Aug 19, 2014 · The MR drives like a normal automatic, but faster shifts. Switching into sport mode makes the shifts more aggressive. I tend to drive my MR like a manual (with the paddles) but there is no clutch pedal at all. Only downside to the MR is driving in heavy traffic. She wants to downshift and rev up so I typically just drop her in 2nd and coast.

Looking to pick up and 2008 - 2015 EVO X MR or GSR around 15k - 16k usd. Looking for up-to-date advice on the SST MR transition, MR GSR pricing, mods, or if I should look into a different car: Evo MR. To be honest I prefer the MR Dual Clutch Transmission over the GSR manual.

Mar 29, 2020 · Also the issues are numerous, and a bad SST can literally total an Evo MR because of the list price. You can find a replacement for a few grand in used condition, which is a ticking time bomb. Luckily the Ralliart 09-15 has the same engine and trans, and because it's not an Evo, people don't price them the same.

Apr 11, 2022 · Most people that have problems have them because they beat the fuck out of the car. Then, people buy the car used from person that "never raced" the car, either drive it and have problems, or beat the fuck out of it and have problems. I have 120k on my Evo turbo swapped Ralliart that I bought with 110k and have not had any issues.

May 29, 2022 · A full fluid and filter change on an MR for the SST is about $900, $650 if you do it yourself. This and the fact that MR clutch packs cannot stand much more than stock torque levels, is why MRs are generally 25-30% cheaper than their GSR counterparts to buy. Ask how many times the SST has been serviced and fluids replaced.

Sep 5, 2020 · The major differences between the RA and MR are smaller turbo, slightly different gear ratios in 5th & 6th gear, (0.983 and 0.731 vs 1.000 and 0.775 in the Evo) RA doesn't come with S-Sport or launch control though those can both be flashed on, a less sophisticated drivetrain, smaller brakes, and lighter weight.
