Medical Templates and ETH Zurich are enhancing the Cube Navigation System with augmented reality to improve precision in radiological interventions. A recent study shows significant improvements in training outcomes and user satisfaction with this new AR application.

In 2012 he was appointed as a full professor of product development and engineering design at ETH Zurich. His main research focuses on the development of new products in the field of mechanical engineering industries, biomedical applications and associated technologies.

PD Dr. Alexander Ilic is the Executive Director and a co-founder of the ETH AI Center. He completed his habilitation at University of St. Gallen (HSG), holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, and a MSc from TU Munich. Alex is a Swiss-German deep tech entrepreneur, researcher, and investor.

In our education, we provide a flexible program on product development and design. Our courses combine modern development methods with practical application in interdisciplinary teamwork. Students are strongly integrated in ongoing research activities and work closely together with our PhD students and our partners in industry and medicine.

For two semesters, teams of up to eight ETH students develop a product from the initial idea to a reliable prototype of a complex mechatronic system. The projects are interdisciplinary and the ETH-Zurich student teams collaborate with students from other departments and universities.
