Apr 17, 2023 · As enigma adds flat defense instead of %defense the only added defense from a higher req base item is the different in base items. So for example going from mage plate to archon plate adds a negligable 250-ish defense for almost doubling the requirements.

Javazon with an enigma clears cows stupid fast. I love the zon class, but running around cows was too slow compared to my light sorc. 100% tele is clunky with zon.. but if you are just tp'ing once from pack to pack throwing lightning bolts its unrea. The enigma is exponentially better at casting builds vs melee builds..

Dec 4, 2021 · Sure but remember, Enigma is a flat bonus to def. If you're talking about a runeword with a large percentage increase, then yeah you should probably try to get that on-item number higher so the bonus defense can do that much more, but the difference on Enigma is so small that it's really quite meaningless.

Feb 10, 2022 · You should make Enigma in a Mage Plate for 3 reasons: Defense has very little value in D2. Especially small amounts. Enigma gives no % enhanced defense, so you really only gain ~250 extra defense by using an Archon Plate which is an almost insignificant amount.

But the whole point of making Enigma in a low strength based is that it gives you ~70 strength on a high level character. So it will give you enough strength to equip the rest of your gear on all characters that don't use Spirit Monarch. The truth is that stats in D2 are pretty poorly designed.

Nov 30, 2021 · No, a high level char will end up with way more than 156 strength (for spirit monarch) using an archon plate enigma because of the massive strength bonus enigma gives, ie wasted points. AP str cost is too high now that strength bugging isn’t a thing.

Oct 4, 2021 · Really though any lightweight armour works. I'd try to make it in an Elite light armour though because even though Enigma gets flat +defense, I don't see a reason to forego ~400 defense. So something like a Dusk Shroud or Archon Plate would be pretty typical.
