Apr 1, 2021 · Hi all, I started emgality in 12/2019 and my last shot was 2/6/21. I began to realize the side effects of the shot were increasingly difficult to manage and I decided to stop taking the med. I have crazy brain fog, like I can’t wake up, fatigued all day, depressed, crying, even suicidal ideation the first few days after I didn’t take it 3/6/21.

Oct 19, 2019 · Emgality seemed to work fairly quickly with me although I also timed it with my nerve block injections. I feel like I get to day 23 and I’m ready for my next dose (instead of wanting to finish out the full 30 day cycle) because my headaches morph into migraines.

Feb 7, 2021 · Emgality brought mine from 20 to a handful a month and Nurtec handles those nicely. Nurtec is also for prevention now too just take it every other day and no migraines any more. Dec 4, 2021 · I started Emgality in October. November was a particularly bad month for my migraines, but I can't be sure that was the Emgality as there were other factors (overseas travel, jetlag, grief). I suspect the Emgality is actually not working for me, and this is what the migraines felt like before I got them better controlled with Aimovig and Botox.

Jan 20, 2020 · I had diarrhea the first 4 times using Emgality. It happened within 45 mins of injection and then an additional urgency for about 2 days afterwards. 2&3) Can’t say I experienced any extra bloating that I noticed 4&5&6) I have IBS and GERD so I have seen a GI doc several times in the past but not specifically since taking Emgality.

Before Aimovig & Emgality, I had over 15 migraines a month. After Aimovig from February of last year, I had very few migraines except one really massive one in December. January and February came along and the migraines were coming back more and more frequent. So, good ole switcheroo to Emgality.

Mar 9, 2020 · Emgality nearly ruined my year—I took 3 injections and then the effects stayed with me for another 6 months. The worst of them were over after a couple months, though. The one that was the worst for me is that I had a total personality change—really irritable and irrationally angry, just lashing out at everyone I loved.

I'm not sure why my neuro chose emgality over the other injectables, I know he went for an injection because my body is questionable when it comes to absorbing and I have many concerns over the various things I'm taking interacting. I'm feeling less concerned about my upcoming appointment thanks to everyone's feedback!
