Mar 7, 2017 · My 2012 Elantra just did same thing while I was on interstate and I was run off road because I could not accelerate above 20 mph. A semi just missed me. Coil pack changed and next day the engine just stopped and tachometer quit working once I restarted engine. I contacted Hyundai and am waiting on the national techs to advise local Hyundai.

Feb 19, 2025 · Hi, my Elantra AD 2017 started to stall randomly at idle or low speed. During stall, I can hear a click sound from the driver side dashboard.

Oct 17, 2022 · Glad it work out for you. I might have to possibly replace the coils on my 2011 Elantra. It at 108,000 KM. I have the same problem when the A/C is engaged and also when the cooling system fan comes on. I thought it might be the cooling fan motor getting old but if the coils effect the A/C it could effect other drains on the electrical system.

Oct 19, 2021 · I figure by now we (as a community) should have a good collective understanding of the 2.0L engine in the 2014-2017 Elantra GT. The regular 2011-2016 Elantra's 1.8L has notable issues (piston slap, oil sludge problems, other failures) and had a Class Action Settlement. Other engines in the Sonata and Santa Fe (2.0 and 2.4)had recalls.
