Mar 17, 2003 · Where would I start with upgrades (engine wise) for my EL XR8? Let's say I have a budget of $2000 for the time being.

i have an EL XR8 series one with 163k on it. really good nick and tight motor with even compression, mods to date are EL GT extractors, high flow cats and all the way twin 2.25 exhaust. car also has all new ignition parts, major service and a K&N panel filter.

2 days ago · Underdrive pulleys and the Yella Terra 1.72 ratio roller rockers are pretty much the best bang for buck mods that you have left. The rollers can give you between 5-10rwkw for $440 and the pulleys will give you a few kw as well. After that you're looking at serious head, intake and cam mods which is big $$$.

Dec 14, 2004 · I am having one fitted to my supercharged XR8 in the next few weeks and have seen 1 other Ford V8 (EL XR8 with 347 stroker engine) and plenty of I6's both NA and turbos with 8860's fitted. I have been quoted $2300 supplied, fitted and tuned from 2 local EMS dealers so I would imagine prices should be about the same all over Australia.

Apr 5, 2025 · For $2k, you would throw it at exhaust, headers and air intake. Probably the best bfyb mods. For 2k you sould be able to get AU Explorer intake manifolds with 65mm TB, 70mm MAF, AU GT40p heads and an exhaust if you are lucky.
