EKO fretless ABG. Circa 1980 Lined neck. Strung with tapewound strings. No pickup. Like most ABG's it doesnt have a lot of volume acoustically but it records very well. Add a pickup and you are good to go or just use it in the studio.

Eko BA/04 Acoustic Bass - 1980’s (The Cure) This original and very nice example of the EKO B.A/4 acoustic bass was made in Italy by Alfredo Bulgari and is in very fine condition.

This is a vintage 4 string fretless bass made by EKO in Italy model # BA/4. There is a small dent (see pic) in the back of the bass but it does NOT affect the sound at all, it is a cosmetic defect that can be easily fixed by a luthier. The bass comes with a hardshell case. It plays beautifully.

Jul 23, 2004 · I should say that these sell from $350 to $800 USD for both fretless and fretted 4 strings. The rare SIX string versions (I owned one in the late 1980's) are worth $1000 or more. Both of the fretless I owned had fret markers. All Italian models had floating bridges with metal tailpieces EXCEPT THE BA-1-E.
