Eeyore (/ ˈiːɔːr / ⓘ EE-or) is a fictional character in the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne. He is an old, grey stuffed donkey and friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh. Eeyore is generally characterised as pessimistic, depressed, and anhedonic.

Eeyore is an old grey (sometimes blue) donkey. He lives in a house made of sticks situated in Pooh and Piglet Corner, in the Hundred Acre Wood. He was voiced by Ralph Wright in the original Disney theatrical shorts and is currently voiced by Peter Cullen and Brad Garrett. Physically, Eeyore is described as an old grey donkey.

And it isn’t: Eeyore is simply a phonetic spelling of the sound a donkey makes, the braying noise usually transcribed in American English as hee-haw. In the non- rhotic (or r -dropping) accents of most of England, the name Eeyore would be pronounced \EE-aw\.
