Dec 6, 2011 · Wild edibles I live in oklahoma And these are all common edibles I use, one that didn't get mentioned was black Mustard. The leaves are good in salads but can have a very strong taste and the seeds can be used as a spice if you are willing to collect them.

Jun 7, 2014 · Anthills are everywhere. As are underwater bugs. A childs fish net or any small pond net will get you plenty of edibles, including tiny fish, maybe some crawfish... Those tiny fish can be added to water for whatever soup you are making and add protein and omega fats

Ask around maybe you can find or be introduced to an elder that has gathered this knowledge all their lives. Plants change so much season to season that you have to sure, very sure.

Apr 30, 2008 · The best way to go with wild edibles is find a GOOD mentor. There are to many lookalike plants for me to guess but then I am a pretty good shot so food is easy. I got a hook and line I will eventually catch something. I have steel traps if you can stand the meat I have never failed 1 coon a night around here from 5 traps.
