Jan 27, 2018 · The C3B came out in 67 or 68 and was basically a copy of the Corvette L79 /Z28 manifold with the plenum divider notched to clear the Holley 3 bbl carbs. The C3BX is a newer version , introduces in 70 or 71 with a few modifications or improvements. I have a C3B but have seen a slightly different version of it.

Sounds like a boat anchor to me. My question is will I notice a substantial power increase if I switch to a victor jr or a RPM...

Dec 7, 2020 · Here is the C3B, everyone knows this was intended for the 3 barrel Holley carb with the oval seconndary. (hence the notch in the rear of the plenum divider. also they did not even include the AFB bolt pattern for carb mounting. Also the visible runners are much closer to being even length. here is a pic compared to the C4B

Jul 12, 2012 · Then a pal has an old Eddy C3B square flange intake, need to confirm if C3BX etc. Has oil fil tube but I seem to recollect it pointed in a different direction than the iron 4bbl intake. Pretty cool for that "Day 2" look I have a nice HR already cut, 2.02/1.60 291 Camel Hump heads, 3.73 gears, 200 4r trans.

Jan 10, 2005 · The C3BX is an old school manifold that was derived from a cross between the older C4B and C3B intakes. It's mixture distribution is not a good as the current Performers but was very popular back in the day prior to the Performers being introduced. It will work fine.

Oct 9, 2006 · Both the C3B and C3BX had a notch in the secondary area that allowed full opening of the single rear throttle plate that the Holley 3 barrel carb used. A four barrel carb can be used on either intake with no problems. If you lie a C3B and C3BX side by side, you'll see that the passages of one are a bit larger than the other.

May 8, 2011 · About an intake. If you've already got a stock cast iron 275hp-327 intake, that will work nicely on a 283. An Edelbrock C4B or C3B, being aluminum will save a bit of weight and flow a little bit better, but on a near stock 283, probably not enough more to make a noticeable improvement in power.
