The Fife Coast Railway was a railway line running round the southern and eastern part of the county of Fife, in Scotland. It was built in stages by four railway companies: the Leven Railway opened the section from a junction at Thornton on the Edinburgh and Northern Railway main line to Leven in 1854, serving textile mills and a distillery.

Sep 12, 2018 · This railway walk is part of a cycleway and is very easy walking under foot. The route offers some superb views over open countryside towards the sea. The East Neuk Railway Line ran from St Andrews to Leven connecting the East Neuk towns and villages with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

You can of course drive to the East Neuk – it takes about one hour from Edinburgh to Elie. However, like the rest of Fife, the East Neuk is extremely well-connected and easy to access by public transport. Route description: The route begins at Kirkcaldy Railway Station, through Dysart and proceeds east along the coast to the East Neuk. It goes through those villages from Earlsferry through to Crail, before turning north for St Andrews via Kingsbarns.

Feb 5, 2023 · For over a century the line served the East Neuk of Fife and carried coal, fish, farmers and tourists along its length. Many local people have happy memories travelling on the line, whether to shops or school in Anstruther or further afield to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

The Levenmouth rail link [1] (also called the Leven rail link [2]) is a recently reopened 5-mile (8 km) branch line railway in Fife, Scotland. The link connects the town of Leven and other settlements in the Levenmouth conurbation with Thornton, and joins the Fife Circle Line at Thornton North Junction.
