Jun 1, 2023 · Marvel Studios can call it whatever it wants but its wrong. Earth 616 is specifically the universe the main Comics take place in. Earth 616 is what MCU sees itself as sure, but in the grand scheme its not. Seems easier for fans to recognize the bigger picture rather than using what marvel studios wants to call itself for branding.

May 9, 2019 · I personally think making multiple Earths across multiple franchises Earth-616 is a bit confusing. At least Earth-199999 would be unique and easily identifiable. Plus, not using familiar designations could help establish that anything can happen in this universe as opposed to how it happened anywhere else.
