These, were available to and used by scads of gunmakers from the end of WWII until the mid-late 1960s and many very fine and often quite inexpensive hunting rifles were built on them, Sako was one such marque.

Sako is a special case in the Finnish industrial history. It was first started in 1919, when the Finnish Civil Guards needed a workshop to repair Russian-made rifles obtained during the Civil War.
