
Question about ground plane on Eagle One vertical
Dec 17, 2021 · The Eagle One is not a complete antenna, its just 31ft of wire and you need to provide some kind of matching right at the wire. On 40m it may work ok with 5ft of coax to a tuner but not on 20m or some other bands. On 20m its right near 1/2 wavelength of wire and the impedance will be in the 2500-3000 ohm range.

Nov 4, 2021 · Eagle One vertical antenna. As you read the reviews on eHam you can ignore the reported SWR readings as you will be using it only for receiving. I'm using mine with a tuner and it is a very good general coverage HF vertical. For transmitting, it is best on 40 and 15M, but it receives very well everywhere.

Feb 29, 2016 · I just received a new "Eagle One" fiberglass vertical (31') collapsible all-band antenna. Bought it with the kit to install on my coach ladder but right now at home installed it on a 3' tripod. Worked 40 and 20 today with a small MFJ tuner fed by Icom 706 hf rig. Looking forward to setting it up on the picnic table at the campsite.

Nov 7, 2015 · Google "off center fed antenna" and you'll find plenty of examples and information on how to build one. Finally, it is a resonant antenna. Properly built and erected, it can be used without a tuner on the bands it is cut for.. BTW, I had an IC-7000 for many years. It's a great radio. I hope you enjoy it.
