Feb 15, 2019 · You can easily tell these blocks because they say EJ25 and they only have a 4 bolt bell-housing. From 99 up to 2002, you find the block (251/253) will have 8 bolts and a 3/4" block breather nipple in the right rear corner (sitting in the car orientation).

Oct 16, 2015 · What you're seeing -- the B25 is the heads. That's not part of the block. Block will be a series -- 701 is circa 2004, it goes up to 704, which is '12-current. All turbo shortblocks are identical, it's the heads that are slightly different between iterations, for emissions, or dual-avcs. B, D, and V25b (07 STi only) are all single-AVCS.
