Jul 11, 2023 · OK, that is the EGR valve on the backside of the engine (there are two EGR systems). It is possible it is gunked up, but more possible it is just bad. It is a bit of a job to remove it just to clean it and not have it be fixed.

Mar 6, 2012 · Naturally enough, pulled the codes and they are P046e and P046f - indicating a stuck EGR. They did replace EGR 5 years ago, under wty. Called the stealer, was told that job's wty has expired (replaced around 10K, I am pushing 100K now).

Jun 22, 2009 · Remove the top engine cover. Remove the top of the air filter box or the entire air filter box. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove the 3 5mm hex socket bolts. Remove EGR valve from the intake manifold. Clean. Installation is the reverse of removal. But consider not replacing the connector...
