The SL40 is a lightweight under-barrel grenade launcher for the EF88 rifle. Made by Lithgow Arms, the SL40 was adopted by the ADF along with the EF88 in 2016 to replace the M203. The weapon fires a vast variety of 40mm cartridges including, HE, smoke and high velocity.

The Army has begun to roll out the Enhanced F88 Austeyr (EF88) to replace the F88 Austeyr. The new rifle has several new features including improved modularity featuring extended accessories rail, a fixed barrel, bolt catch release and a black paint scheme.

Jan 21, 2014 · It appears that the GL40 variant pictured has been designed specifically for the unique geometry of the EF88/F90, mounting to the lower STANAG 4694 rail and allowing the trigger to protrude through the rifle’s trigger guard in much the same way as the ML40AUS.
