The 6th Department of the Armament Directorate, and Heinrich Kniepkamp personally, tried to design a single platform for two types of tanks since the second half of the 1930s.

As indicated by its name, the weight of the E-50 was expected to fall between 50 and 75 tonnes. The engine was intended to be an improved Maybach HL234 with 900 hp. Maximum speed was supposed to be 60 km/h. The E-75 Standardpanzer was intended to be the standard heavy tank as a replacement of the Tiger II and Jagdtiger.

In 1945 the E 50 was conceived as a standard medium tank of the Panzerwaffe to replace the Panther and Panther II. It existed only in blueprints.

Jun 26, 2014 · E75 is extremely viable even without the top gun. The top gun from the Tiger II is a great weapon even at Tier 9. I spent free XP on turret and tracks for the E75.

E50m is a better tank all-around, but I'd rather have an E50 over it any day of the week. The E50 is close enough to the E50m, but it is a whole tier lower, so you essentially get the same tank but sometimes you see tier 7 tanks in it. E50M is a baby E75 in my opinion.

I know the E50 and E75 were basically a panther and a king tiger that (maybe?) were uparmored a little and streamlined for faster production had the war continued, and most of the sites I've looked at have said the E50 was to be armed with an 88mm.

Feb 21, 2022 · The weight of the Panther with steel rimmed wheels was 46.5 tons, 500 kg more than the E-50, but the sprung weight was 900 kg less: 39.9 tons vs 40.8. Note that the potential upgrades were purely theoretical and there was not enough time to draw them out.

Mar 10, 2003 · The E50 and E75 were to have the same engines, rear drives, tracks, idler wheels, ventilation systems and track tensioning systems. Fuel tanks and hull structures were to be the same. The outer dimensions of the hulls were to be the same with the E50 having thinner armour.
