Some M52 engines are all-alloy, therefore lighter than M50 and S50 engines. The M52 can be converted to OBD-I by using an OBD-I harness, cam position sensor, crank position sensor, knock sensors, intake manifold, throttle body, and 413/506 DME.

Oct 21, 2012 · You can use any diff you'd like that bolts up to an e30, but it is recommended you use a medium case diff for more durabilty, preferably a 3.25lsd for a S52 car. With an m52 you could probably get away with any medium case lower than a 4.10.

Feb 25, 2017 · First of all you have totally wrong ecu. M52 uses siemens ms41 and not -413 bosch motronic. And you can use those e36 wiring guides. But the e39 harness doesn't have x20 connector so you have to use only the eire colors.

Feb 28, 2019 · Don't over think the problem - there's only three wires that are actually involved with making your new engine run (green, green/purple and black/yellow), plus the battery connections - red to positive, brown or brown/orange to negative. Others are instrumentation, etc.

May 5, 2017 · I'll be using an m52b28 engine from and e38 728i as I understand the sump, dipstick and pickup don't need to be modified, and it will just drop straight into the e30. Now, in the interest of time I'd like to use the existing M40 / getrag 220 with the engine.
